The service
Sentmine is a free browser extension that shows dual subtitles, a dictionary and AI explanations, and sends cards to Anki. It is provided “as is”, with no guarantee of availability or that it will keep working with future changes to the platforms it integrates with.
Permitted use
- Sentmine is meant for personal study of languages.
- You are responsible for complying with the terms of the platforms you use (YouTube, Netflix, HBO Max, Gaia and others) and with the copyright laws of your country. Cards with audio fragments are for your personal use; do not distribute them.
- Do not use Sentmine to bypass content protections or to copy whole videos.
Account
The account is optional. You can stop using it whenever you like and ask for it to be deleted by writing to diegojosepc@gmail.com. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.
AI explanations
The AI’s explanations and translations are indicative and may contain errors; they do not replace a teacher or a professional translation. Their use has a daily limit (10 explanations for free accounts) that may change. The AI depends on an external provider and may be unavailable at certain times or in certain regions. By using it you accept that the text of the lines you ask to explain is sent to that provider, as described in the privacy policy.
Minimum age
To use the account and the AI explanations you must be 18 or older: the AI provider requires that its services are not directed at minors. Sentmine is not directed at minors.
Premium (coming soon)
When it is available, the Premium subscription (currently planned at $7 USD a month, with 600 explanations a month) will be charged every month through Lemon Squeezy until you cancel it from the management link you will receive by email; it stays active until the end of the paid period. Taxes are handled by Lemon Squeezy. If you have a problem with a charge, write to us.
Voluntary contribution
The $7 USD contribution is voluntary, one-time and does not unlock features: the whole extension is free. Lemon Squeezy handles the payment. If you made it by mistake, write to us and we will sort it out.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sentmine is not responsible for losses arising from its use, including loss of data. We recommend using the backup in Settings and Anki’s sync.
